Jo Walls

Jo is an artist who grew up in the rural Essex countryside, lived in London for many years and now resides in Hertfordshire. Originally trained in animation at Bournemouth she then undertook postgraduate studies at Central St Martin’s College of Art and Design in London.

Jo enjoys working with a variety of mediums but predominately creates sculptures in clay, made as one off ceramic pieces or cast as a limited edition. Ceramic pieces are often finished with unique patinas using an array of pigments, paints and powders.

The distinctive style of Jo’s work ranges from wildlife to more contemplative pieces such as her series of skyward characters and reoccurring theme of sentinels.

She has exhibited widely around the South East including at Chelsea Art Society, RHS Wisley, RHS Hyde Hall, Orleans House Gallery, Landmark Arts and the sculpture trail at the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, with work in private collections around the UK.
